Farmers for Climate Action - Drought
March 2019

Farm production falling

Despite high targets for growth, the latest ABARES data shows Australia’s farm production is falling as a result of the savage drought devastating much of South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and pockets of Tasmania and Western Australia.

As members of the National Farmers’ Federation, we are backing Talking2030 goals to become a $100 billion industry by 2030. However, the climate hits keep coming. We urgently need a National Strategy for Climate Change and Agriculture to help producers manage the increasing number of droughts, floods, fires and frosts coming their way.
